Welcome to the NEW AroundTownKids DFW Metroplex Events Section that features ongoing events for kids & families in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex area. This section is created just for DFW Metroplex kids events.
Ongoing kids events in the Dallas metroplex such as children’s museum exhibits, Fort Worth Cattle Drive, family film series etc are listed below. For daily or Allen local recurring events such as story times or craft hours, please see our Event Calendar on the homepage.

Location: Dallas Museum of Art, North Studio, Gateway Gallery Address: 1717 North Harwood, Dallas Dates & Times: Saturdays and Sundays, 1:30–3:30 p.m. Description: Take a walk through the Museum and visit an Art Stop. A trained volunteer will be on hand to talk in-depth about the art. Look at insider photos, learn the history, and participate in family activities. Great for all ages!

Join our adorable mascot for some quality stories read by a talented storyteller from our community.

RL Thornton Freeway, Dallas Description: CUB CLUB - Ages 0-3 with one parent (1 hour).Classes include story time, a craft, and a live animal encounter. 10AM-11AM; Cost $20/class or $72/series. CRITTER KIDS - Ages 4-5, child only, NO parents (1 hour). Classes include learning stations, crafts, stories, and a live animal encounter. 10AM-11AM; Cost $20/class or $72/series. BEASTLY BUDDIES - Age 6-7, child only, NO parents (2 hours). Classes include crafts, learning stations, a guided Zoo tour, and a live animal encounter. 1PM-3PM; Cost $40/class or $144/series. SATURDAY SAFARIS - Age 8-10, child only, NO parents (2 hours). Classes include a craft, live animal encounter, guided Zoo tours, and special Behind the Scenes experiences. 1PM-3PM; Cost $45/class or $162/series.

Fort Worth Cattle Drive Location: Fort Worth Stockyards  Address: 121 E Exchange Ave, Fort Worth Date & Times: Twice a day, Every Day at 11:30am & 4pm(subject to weather and the longhorns' dispositions) Description: the world's only daily cattle drive clip-clops its way over the brick-paved streets of the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards. Starting at the Livestock Exchange Building, the trail boss and his cowhands on horseback lead a couple dozen Texas longhorns almost single file down Exchange Avenue and back to their holding pens behind the Exchange Building.
Date & Time: Overnights begin at 7 p.m. and end at 10:30 a.m. the following day. Location: The Dallas Zoo Address: 650 S RL Thornton Freeway, Dallas Description: For groups of 15-100 people, ages 7-13 years. Smaller groups may attend, but will be put with other groups. Once Upon a Flight at Frontiers of Flight MuseumPhone: 214-350-3600 Address: 6911 Lemmon Ave., Dallas Dates and Times: Second and Fourth Friday of Every Month from 10:30am – 11:30am For ages Preschool and early grades. Our storyteller takes younger visitors on flying adventures during "Story Time"! Free with museum admission.
Date & Time: Sept through May; Classes are currently available from 9:00-11:30 Tuesday OR Wednesday morning and from 1:00-3:30 on Tuesday afternoon. Location: The Dallas Zoo Address: 650 S. RL Thornton Freeway, Dallas Description: “Preschool at the Zoo” for 3 and 4 year old children. Meeting for 2 ½ hours in the morning or afternoon, one day a week. Children will engage in interactive learning, meet live animals, and explore the Zoo! Cost: Second semester cost is $320 ($305 if you are enrolling more than one child).
