Description: The rock climbing wall at the Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium is 24 feet high and 18 feet wide. The sandstone textured wall challenges climbers of all skill levels. Description: We welcome young ladies and their fathers or male adult father figure to join us in a night of celebration, dance, and music. The Ball is special moment for men to show these young girls how a respectful man should treat them. These dances have left a lasting impression on the lives of many girls throughout the year. The decorations, lights, and the treats are great, but the memories that each couple makes is the best part. This year, we are limiting the number of participants in each dance to 150. To make this more feasible, we have added a third dance. We will also make changes to the way refreshments will be served. Each participant must be wearing a mask to enter into the Ball. Description: The AAM, Dallas has one of the largest collections of African American folk art in the country. The Billy R. Allen Folk Art Collection, named for a founding board member, has grown to include more than 500 objects. Dr. Warren and Sylvia Lowe of Lafayette, Louisiana, Sally Griffiths and Dr. Bobby Alexander of Dallas, Texas have been major contributors. Pieces from the collection are rotated, twice each year, in the Sam and Ruth Bussey Gallery. Artists include Clementine Hunter, Mose Tolliver, Reverend Johnnie Swearingen, David Butler, Sister Gertrude Morgan, and Isaac Smith to name a few.
