Oragnize Your Family

In order to implement an organization system that would work for your family, it is important to determine what stress you the most and why.

Do you get stress in the mornings because nobody can seem to get out of the door on time and with everything they need?

If this is the case, there are a few things you can do to lower your morning stress level: Leave things ready the night before:

a) Have a place by the door where the kids can leave their backpacks and shoes, and you can leave anything that you need to take with you the following day.

b) Get lunches ready before going to bed.

c) Set clothes and jewelry out before you turn in for the night.

d) Get up before everybody else.

Do you get stress in the evening, when you come home after being all day at work and have some many things to attend to in a very limited amount of time?

On this case, get organized over the weekend and follow a schedule to get things done when you get home.

a) Take time over the weekend to plan an easy menu for the week and to do all the necessary shopping.

b) You can make recipes that can be frozen and when you get home is just a matter of heating them up and serve.

c) Take time on Sunday to plan your family's schedule, so you know where everybody needs to be, at what time, and how they are getting to and from.

d) Plan a week's worth of outfits, so it is one less thing to do every evening.

Do you get stress over the weekend, when you are trying to get seven or more days of work in two days?

a) If this is the case, take deep breaths; know what you need to do and how you are going to get it done in advance will cut some anxiety.

b) Do not try to be perfect, remember to enjoy your family and do the most important things first, that way if something does not get done the item will be low on the importance list and you can get it done later.

c) Enlist your family's help. If you are less stress, it will benefit everybody.

These are just a couple of examples, the point is you must identify your stressor first and then decide what would make it better.

Once you're organized, maintain the order; put things away every night. If you work organization into your routine, it'll become second nature instead of a chore.
